Welcome to TALAB 2025

The Talakayang Alay sa Bayan (TALAB) is a series of events aimed at providing students with opportunities to reflect on the various issues confronting the nation. It is an annual event of the Ateneo, giving space for reflection on issues affecting the country.

Walking with
The Excluded

Committing to Laudato Si's call to respond to the Cry of the Poor, this year's TALAB targets to amplify the calls of the excluded sector in society, with the concept of exclusion also accounting for those who are discriminated against consciously or unconsciously and thus are not able to fully participate in the life of society, and those who are powerless to influence social decision-making. As such, TALAB 2025-2026 is committing to the theme Walking with the Excluded.

Walking with the Excluded is one of the four Jesuit Apostolic preferences, which emphasizes not only the need to hear the cry of the excluded but to walk alongside them as they face various challenges. The call to be persons for others has evolved to be the call to be persons for and with others, and TALAB, under this theme, wishes to set an example of how to do so.
